Description

NiYo Engineers’ Computerized Air Compressor Test Rig is an advanced training system for a reciprocating compressor. Using this equipment one can carryout a complete analysis of a reciprocating air compressor using a single click on a computer. A single stage air compressor or a two stage air compressor is driven by an AC or a DC electric motor. It has a facility to vary the speed of the motor. In order to plot performance characteristics and to calculate efficiency of the compressor, instrumentation to measure power input, pressures, temperatures, mass air flow and compressor speed are provided. Pressure versus Volume Plot (P-V Diagram) can be obtained for reciprocating compressor for further study.

All the parameters of the compressor are fed to the computer via a signal conditioning unit and interfacing devices. The acquired data is then analysed and displayed in tabular/ graphical format by the software. The software is Windows based user friendly and menu driven. Facility to export the acquired data or print the acquired data helps student keep record of their experiments. The training equipment can function without computer interface/software also. This is a very helpful feature in case where the training needs manual operation and noting of the readings or in a rare case of computer failure.
